Aston Villa boss Unai Emery insists he holds no grudge against former club Arsenal.
Emery took charge of Villa earlier this season and has taken the team from 17th on the Premier League table to fifth.
He told AS: “An increasingly tough championship. When I was at Arsenal there was a very strong Top 4 and there was already talk of the Top 6, the one we all know now. But with Newcastle there is already a Top 7, even we want to join and be the eighth in that group, create a Top 8.
“Aston Villa must have a place there. There are teams for a Top 8 or a Top 10 to exist because there is economic muscle.
“Arsenal had a complete and very beautiful year. We were fighting until the last game to finish in the top four and we lost a Europa League final against Chelsea. We stayed close to the targets, which I now want to translate at Aston Villa. That helped me to have now come here better surrounded.”
