Aston Villa manager Emery: Premier League has become home of coaching

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery says the Premier League has become the home of coaching.

Emery left Villarreal to take charge of Villa earlier this season.

He told AS: “Here is the best coach I’ve ever seen, which is Pep, who constantly makes me challenge myself to learn, then there are coaches like Klopp, who give you a very competitive and winning vision of football, or new football ideas that are bought, like that of De Zerbi at Brighton, or also Potter… I’ve seen the Brighton process.

“It had a completely different coach than the last ones, Chris Houghton, and it was a blunt, low, direct team. Nothing to do with now. The Premier is becoming Europeanized. The best technicians come here.

“The City has found an excellence in the game and in the very striking results. It is a match to see it in the stadium, to feel it there. When I left Arsenal I was at that City semifinal with Madrid. City dominated and Madrid won. It is the example of what these two teams are.”
