Liverpool are willing to meet the buyout clause of Celta Vigo attacker Gabri Veiga.
Mundo Deportivo says the Reds have informed Veiga’s management team they’re willing to pay the EUR40m option.
Liverpool have also offered the youngster a contract worth EUR5m-a-year.
Veiga is now weighing up the proposal, knowing Barcelona are also keen, as is Newcastle United.
The youngster only broke into Celta’s first team last year, but such has been his impact that Celta president Carlos Mourino pubicly announced his expected sale last month.
Just yesterday, Mourino confirmed former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez as new Celta coach.
