Soccer, also known as football, is very popular in Ghana. The country has a strong national league, with several top-tier clubs competing against each other. The Ghana national team, commonly known as the Black Stars, is one of the strongest in Africa, having won the Africa Cup of Nations four times and reaching the World Cup in Germany in 2006 and South Africa in 2010. Some of the notable clubs in Ghana include Accra Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, and Medeama SC. Soccer is widely played and supported by the local community, with many young people taking up the sport as a passion.
