Former Newcastle and Arsenal fullback Mathieu Debuchy has announced his retirement.
Debuchy, now with Valenciennes, will hang up the boots at the end of the season.
Now 37, the Ligue Une title winner said: “I’m ending my career at the end of this season.
“I’m going to move on. These are several factors, but today I cannot talk about them. I will address the subject at some point, when the club is maintained and after the season. It had been under consideration for several weeks.
“I registered to pass the first coaching diploma, so we will continue on that. We will see the opportunities that will open up to me. There are discussions today.
“The priority remains the maintenance and survival of the club.”
